This knitting pattern for a baby blanket is suitable for competent knitters or ‘adventurous’ beginners/improvers. The mitred squares are knitted in garter stitch and stitches are picked up to join the squares as you knit.
The finished size is approx 52 x 72cm.
You will also need 200g Opal sock yarn
One pair of 3.25mm needles
One circular needle 3.25mm x 100cm (for border)
Baby blanket knitting pattern in mitred squares which are joined together as you work so that there is no sewing up at the end. It looks equally effective knitted in plain and self-patterning yarn or in one shade of self-patterning yarn. It would also be a good way to use up the oddments of sock yarn in your stash as each square takes less than 10g of yarn.
The pattern is designed by Frances Fletcher.
