The Byzantine shawl, designed by Alina Appasova, is inspired by Byzantine architecture, and is a shallow triangular shawl, knitted sideways.
The lines are formed by slip stitches that travel from tip to tip. Only one colour is used at a time.
After the main body is finished, the stitches are picked up along the edge to knit the border. The size of the shawl is easy to adjust by working more or fewer repeats. The pattern can be worked from the written instructions or the charts.
The kit contains a printed copy of the pattern, and you will receive an electronic copy, purchased on your behalf from the Ravelry in-store scheme.
Please note that the kit does not include needles – you will require a 3.5mm circular for this project.
