Following a heart bypass operation, John has got very cold feet but doesn’t want tight socks on the scar on his leg so he asked for some thick shortie socks – these are the result. They are knitted in Fjord 8ply – a thick DK/light worsted sock yarn and you can get a pair out of just one 100g ball. The socks are knitted from the ankle down on 3.75mm double-pointed needles.

I’m sharing the pattern in the hope that these shortie socks will help others post-op. I also think they will make great slippers.
