Knit your own co-ordinating socks using solid and patterned sock yarn.
Free downloadable pattern in shoe sizes 4 – 12 for cuff down socks, knitted in the round.
You will need 100g of 4ply sock yarn in a solid shade and 100g of patterned sock yarn for two pairs of socks
You will also need a set of 2.50mm double-pointed needles or a small (25cm) circular needle.

Soles Mates is a free sock pattern that uses two balls of contrasting yarn – one patterned, one solid – to create mix and match socks. Knit one pair in patterned yarn with cuffs, heels and toe in a contrasting solid shade and knit a second pair using the solid shade with the cuffs, toes and heels in the patterned yarn.
The socks are knitted in the round, cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset. We have used Signature 4ply, a luxury sock yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners, but the pattern is also suitable for other 4ply sock yarns.
