The Tide Scarf is a wavy, graphic take on a narrow scarf that highlights the self-striping yarn with sculptural ripple tiers in a rhythmic Old Shale stitch variation.
It’s worked from the bottom up, starting with a small number of stitches at the centre and expanding outward in tiers. This is done using the Cable cast on method for clean, stable edges.
The pattern features a variation of the classic Old Shale stitch, with all increases and decreases grouped in one row, creating sculptural waves.
Each 100g skein of Uneek Fingering is a work of art – beautiful hand-dyed 100% extrafine merino yarn in vibrant colours. One skein is sufficient for TWO small scarves approx 40″ (103cm) long and 4.75″ (12cm) high. Both scarves shown here are knitted from one skein of shade 3022.
